"The little things .... Sorry they are not that important to me ,... So I do miss them !!"
"And I don't promise any dates !!"
PeterBuilt construction, owned by Peter Cerone, is a construction general contractor in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. PeterBuilt has been involved in a number of renovations, including those performed at "For Pete's Sake" restaurant and a project at Front and Bainbridge Streets of the former "Brick House" restaurant.
PeterBuilt's work has been prominently featured in newspaper articles. Here is a sample of articles written about PeterBuilt.
Questions that you might wish to ask:
How many projects have you left unfinished?
Have you ever had a roof, ceiling, or floor collapse?
Have you ever installed windows that leaked or had to be reinstalled?
Do you like to do things correctly the first time or prefer to "fix" them later?
The Brick House (101 Bainbridge Street) did not collapse during the renovation. This building seems unlikely to collapse: Peter Built seems to have left the job shortly after performing demolition.
To the best of our knowledge, no other PeterBuilt projects suffered through a roof collapse. The roof leaks and roof failures on other projects seem to have only resulted in water damage.
Thankfully, PeterBuilts renovation at 840 South Second Street in Philadelphia revealed no problem with the roof. The premature wall rot does not appear to compromise the roof at all.
PeterBuilt is a total renovation general contractor. Here is another project and examples of Peter Cerone's work.
Here is a roof blowing off in 30 mph winds
Here are gutters that PeterBuilt installed, notice the leaks
Leaks in roof and the damage caused. This is after a ceiling collapse.
PeterBuilt charged thousands in additional money for a special material, AZEK, that is maintanence free. Here is PeterBuilt's installation of this. Notice the stains, holes, and poor spackling.
The owners brought this to Peter's attention. He told them...
Azak will need to be filled and light sanding ,.. And possible coat of primer sealer .... But any painting will have to wait till spring
But painting isn't a maintenance free solution, so the money seems to have been wasted
There was some question about the size of a window, so it was ordered after others. The owner was concerned that the window be installed, so raised the issue. Here is PeterBuilt's response:
I will install window !! Smart ass !!
Here is a picture of that window after PeterBuilt left the job permanently. The owner of the property installed the window at his own expense.
Peter never claims to do precise work. And makes no claim to be careful. Here is an example of a toilet waste pipe that was supposed to be centered in the room.
Notice the black strip on the left window? That's supposed to be removed prior to installation. It does not appear that PeterBuilt followed that set of instructions. Instead, these appear to be set in the stucco.
In one case, there was some damage to the neighbor's house. The neighbor wanted this to be fixed and requested a date. Asked if they will fix it and when, here is PeterBuilt's response.
we will !!! they can and will wait till it fits into my schedule ...
